The Winter Augmented Reality Meeting will take place on February, 3-4 2016 in Graz Austria
The fields of Computer Graphics, Augmented Reality, Computer Vision and Ubiquitous Computing are synergetic. However, the overlap and interleaving contributions of each area has yet to be expressed and understood. The domain expert, focusing and on excelling in his or her field of research may not see the connections. Our meeting is a fertile ground to connect ideas and therefore seeks a variety of topics revolving around Augmented Reality and Ubiquitous Computing.
We welcome presentations on all topics related to AR and Ubicomp including but not limited to:
The event is organized in a style of an academic conference. Yet we want to emphasize the informal character of WARM: There will be no proceedings or referable publications. Instead we invite you to present new ideas and results in order to gain early feedback and hence improve chances for official publications.
WARM lasts for two days, each having a different focus. A detailed program will be put online after the submission deadline. We plan to have 15 min presentation slots and around 5 mins of discussion time for each presentation. Demo tables will be set up for "casual" demos. Invited is everybody happy to join actively in an open and constructive discussion.
This two-day workshop will be held in at the Graz University of Technology, Institute for Computer Graphics and Vision. Most of the event will take place in lecture hall i2 at Inffeldgasse 12
Graz University of Technology is comprised of various campuses. The one where WARM is held is called Inffeldgasse (or Inffeldgründe). There are two entrances to our campus, one from Sandgasse and one from Petersgasse. Both are easily accessible and have roughly the same distance to the lecture hall.
If you come by car, you can park inside the campus. You have to tell the porter that you come to WARM and the gate should open for you. If you come by public transport from a hotel close to the city center, then the tram #6 is most likely a good choice. The best stop to exit the tram is Moserhofgasse, which is at the corner of Münzgrabenstrasse and Moserhofgasse. From there it is 5 minutes of walk to the campus entrance Sandgasse or you drive two more stops to St. Peter Schulzentrum and use the entrance Petersgasse.
The location for the skiing event is within a two-hours drive from Graz. We will arrange for car sharing between local participants and guests from further away to keep the costs low. Car rental is also an option and will be considered, if necessary. Participants need to chip in for any of the transportation modes.
The workshop is free of charge and we will provide you with free lunch, coffee and snacks. As an attendee you have to organize hotel rooms on your own. The following hotels are close to the WARM venue:
