===============================[CALL FOR PAPERS]============================== * 2nd IEEE ISMAR Workshop on Authoring Solutions for Augmented Reality * URL http://studierstube.icg.tugraz.at/ISMARAuthoringWorkshop * Workshop: Monday, November 5th, 2012, Atlanta, Georgia, USA * Submission deadline: Tuesday, July 17, 2012 (extended) ============================== [AIMS AND SCOPE]=============================== The motivation of this workshop is to discuss future direction of content authoring in the field of Augmented Reality, as well as to discuss the current state of art on content creation and content authoring for augmented reality. The workshop will comprise of a paper session where authoring papers, late-breaking results and overviews over state-of-the-art are presented. In the afternoon, we will follow up with discussion sessions on different topics ranging from content creation and authoring to content distribution for AR and a short closing session. We want to collect ideas and thoughts of researches about desired approaches for authoring content for AR, as well as debate about current and future needs to guarantee a high quality as well as quantity of content for AR. =================================[TOPICS]===================================== * Interaction concepts for creating content in and for AR - interaction concepts, e.g. input devices and modalities - extending or beyond CAD, e.g. sketch based interfaces and widgets * In-situ creation and assembly for AR - crowd sourcing, with focus on non-expert - non-spatial content, such as annotations, audio, ambient data etc. pp. - distribution concepts and infrastructure * Specialists Spotlight - topics covering AR content creation for specific tasks in engineering, education, medicine, tourism and entertainment. * Tools and Technologies - libraries - protocols - workflows ===============================[SUBMISSION FORMAT]============================ The workshop will be an opportunity to present short authoring or content creation papers on topics relevant for Mixed and Augmented Reality. To present at the workshop, submit a 4-page paper using the TVCG paper template for ISMAR 2011 papers (available from http://www.cs.sfu.ca/~vis/Tasks/camera.html) by sending it to the email ismarauthoringworkshop@icg.tugraz.at. The submitted papers will be reviewed by the organizing committee and selected for presentation. Authors will be notified of the results and a final deadline for submitting the final version.
